Armella Ann Brugger, 83, of Wood River, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Relias Bonne Eau Hospice Home in Edwardsville.
She was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Murphysboro, Ill., to the late Anthony Charles and Marina Armella (Henrich) Brugger.
Ms. Brugger worked at Sinclair Refinery & Clark Refinery as a secretary, retiring after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and was also a Franciscan. She loved gardening in her greenhouse, specializing in exotic flowers. She loved her church and had a fondness for angels and bunny rabbits.
Survivors include: two sisters, Marita Biggerstaff of South Roxana and Dorothy Biesk of Wood River; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Gass of Granite City, Marilyn Harvey of Belleville, Linda and Patrick Burgess of Granite City, Julie Biesk of Alton, and Steve and Missy Biesk of Hartford; and great-nieces and nephews, MaKenzie Biesk, Morgan and Tyler Robertson and Joel Biesk.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Gass.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. James Flach as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
