Arthur Paul Moore, 80, of East Alton, passed away at 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Zalma, Mo., the son of the late William Arthur and Florence (Price) Moore.
He married the former Loretta Talley in May of 1996 in Edwardsville and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Pat Howard of Brighton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Anders of Alton, and Danny and Karen Talley of Cottage Hills; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Milford and Pat Moore of Dubuque, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Arthur was formerly employed at Laclede Steel for 30 years prior to his retirement in May of 1996. He was a member of the East Alton American Legion Post No. 794. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rochelle Moore; five sisters, Margie, Wanda, Winnie, Hazel and Mildred; and three brothers, Lester, Willard and Wayne.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with full military rites by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
