Barbara Hutson, 74, of Granite City, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015.
Barbara was born on April 5, 1941, in Granite City, a daughter to the late Donald Sisson Sr. and Myrtle (Stallings) Sisson.
On July 4, 1959, Barbara married Richard, the love of her life, in Coffeen, Ill., and he preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2012.
Barbara was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Granite City. She had retired from University Nursing and Rehab Center in Edwardsville as a Registered Nurse after many years of dedicated service. Barbara loved life, she loved her faith in God, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. Barbara was an avid Cardinal baseball fan; she also enjoyed going to the Ameristar, eating out, traveling and playing pinochle. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Barbara will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Daniels Jr.; two sisters, Ruth McNeely and Linda Switzer; and two brothers, James and John Sisson.
Barbara is survived by her seven wonderful children, Barbara (Charles Sr.) Daniels of Granite City, Beth (Thomas) Jordan of Florissant, Mo., Richard L. (Therese) Hutson Jr., of Florissant, Mo., Carol Moynahan of Granite City, Sherri (William Sr.) Gazall of Kansas City, Mo., Patti (Marty) Bobb of Glen Carbon and Robert (Jennifer) Hutson of Granite City; proud grandmother to Netta Thomas, D.J. Gunnar, Mickey Loftus, Eisha Daniels, Neil (Kelli) Loftus, Christy (Mark) Brown, Nick Hutson, Matt Hutson, Eric Moynahan, Amanda (Tyler) Rodgers, William (Breanna) Gazall, Jr., Benjamin Gazall, Lauren Gazall, Austin Bobb, Ryan Bobb, Chase Gansner and Autumn Hutson; proud great-grandmother to Jacob, Abigail, Savannah, Masen, Caleb and Brayden Loftus, Monique, Ray and Faith Thomas, Shamarion and Makenzie Daniels, Malcolm Johnson, Kristopher and Dylan Keller, Luke and Alexis Brown, Elizabeth Shukri, Adam Shutt, Damian and Brandon Rodgers and Lilliana Gazall and Timmy Schuster; great-great grandson, Xavier Thomas; great-granddaughter on the way, Reagan Gazall; two brothers, Charles (Diane) Sisson and Donald (Janie) Sisson Jr.; two sisters, Mary Evans and Margaret (Harry) Combs; sister-in-law, Jodie Sisson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of her life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Granite City, with Father Chris Comerford officiating. Interment will be Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville.
Memorial donations may be given to INADS — Grace Filled Journey or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
