Barbara Jean Bain, 71, of Bethalto, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born July 29, 1944, in LaCrosse, Wis., the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Hubbner) Kroack.
She married Richard S. Bain on May 6, 1967, in LaCrecent, Minn. He survives.
Barbara was a homemaker most of her life, who enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters and their spouses, Jeanne and Sam Madrey of Alton, Melissa Johnson of Bethalto, and Christine and Jay Grant of Oxford, Miss.; grandchildren, Jayda Bick, Tyler Madrey, Brannon Stamper, Alexandria Cherry, Kassandra Cherry, Ethan Johnson, Andrew Grant and Audrey Grant; great-grandchildren, Kennady Lepes and Alaina Stamper; her siblings, Pat Kirchoff of Bloomington, James Kroack of Bethalto, and Kathy and Roger Oseth of La Crosse, Wis.; and a niece, Linda Hirschuber.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sherry Wallace and Tracy Hoxsie; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Kenny Geiwitz; a brother, John Kroack; and two nephews, David and Steve Geiwitz.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
