Berna Marie Buhman Ohley, 94, of Alton, died at Alton Memorial Hospital Sunday, March 1, 2015, from the results of a fall at her home.
Born June 4, 1920, in Bremer County, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ella D. (Heideman) Buhman.
She married Edmund C. Ohley on Nov. 23, 1939, who preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1995.
Berna worked 20 years for Ohley Transfer Co. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton. Berna was also a member of Friends and Neighbors Travel Group. She enjoyed bowling and playing bridge.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Ohley Nohava of Wood River and Nancy Ohley Hannold (Edgar) of Goshen, Ky. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Tracey Virgin Hurley (Jack) of Springfield, Michael Hannold (Tanna) of Gallatin, Tenn., and Whitney Hannold Wilson (Joel) of Prospect, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Alexander Wilson, Addison and Jaxon Hannold, along with various nieces and nephews.
Berna was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Doris Schulz.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 1920 Milton Road, Alton.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
