Bernice A. Shelby, 77, of Wood River, passed away at 8:51 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at SSM DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Mo.
She was born Oct. 31, 1938, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Helen (Kamadulski) Ritter. She married Claude Shelby on Oct. 6, 1957, in Columbia, Ill., and he survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mike Nolan of Wood River; one son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Jeannine Shelby of Sheboygan, Wis.; four grandchildren, Danny and Ericca Nolan, Emily, Taylor and Katie; one great-granddaughter, Avery; and one brother and sister-in-law, Arthur O. and Judy Ritter of Cherokee Village, Ark.
Bernice was formerly employed by Tupperware as a manager in the Busy Bee unit for 25 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Columbia, Ill.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date.
