Betty B. Bulva, 89, of Madison, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Madison, the daughter to Mike and Rosalia (nee: Schiffel) Grba.
She married William “Bill” Bulva July 4, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madison.
Betty was a member of St. Mary’s, where she sang in the choir and belonged to the St. Ann’s Altar Society. She volunteered at St. Mary’s School for many years and was on the PTA. She never grew weary of her family; she loved and cherished every minute with them. She enjoyed playing bingo in her free time.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Bulva of Madison; two daughters, Betty (Ed) Burris and Rose Ann (Mike) Zukas; seven sons, Bill (Kennette) Bulva, Joe (Carol) Bulva, Victor (Patti) Bulva, John (Sandee) Bulva, Roger (Lori) Bulva, Charles Bulva and Gerard Bulva; 21 grandchildren, Tiffany (Jason) Skees, Ben (Lora) Bulva, Brandy (Matt) Range, Brooke (Tony) Walch, Chelsea Bulva, Eric Bulva, Alexis (Larry) Rose, Lindsay Bulva, Brian Bulva, Matt Bulva, Tyler (Ashley) Bulva, Zac Bulva, Jason (Jessica) Bulva, Nicole (Terrence) Murray, Krista Bulva, Kayla Bulva, Trey (Ashley) Burris, Megan Burris, Brittney Bulva and Haley Zukas; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Shrum and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael and Mark Bulva; four sisters, Mary Cromer, Rose Grba, Louise Tegel and Mildred Kochmanski; three brothers, Mike Grba and Robert Grba and one in infancy; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Bulva; and grandson,Tanner W. Bulva.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Madison and will continue Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
