Bonda Gordon (nee Anderson), 40, of Granite City, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City. She was born July 2, 1975, in Granite City, a daughter of the late James Dukes and Peggy (Milton) Dukes.
Bonda loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She had worked at Denny’s in Pontoon Beach, as a server. Bonda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Bonda was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Gordon; and by one brother, Mark Carney.
She is survived by her loving children, Cody Gordon of New Douglas and Taylor Gordon of Granite City; proud grandmother to Laya Conway, Liam Conway, Bennett Gordon and Lincoln Conway; dear siblings, Tammy (Otto) Moore of Santa Fe, N.M., Carl (Branda) Anderson of Granite City, Carol (Brian) Sackett of Granite City, and James Duke of Advance, Mo.; extended family and many friends.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of her life, memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Keith Braddick officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road, Granite City.
Memorial donations may be given to the family and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
