Cari Ann Crawford, 41, of Edwardsville, and formerly of Granite City, passed away at 3:46 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at her home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1973, in Granite City, the daughter of Donald L. and Cheryl A. (Cox) Crawford of Granite City.
Cari had worked and was a dedicated teacher with Stevenson Elementary School in Mesa, Ariz., Woodland Elementary School in Edwardsville, and Tri City Child Care Center and Word of Life Preschool in Granite City. She was a member of Nameoki United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending Harvest Community Church, Word of Life Tabernacle and Calvary Life Church. She had a special love of animals and photography and enjoyed playing the guitar. She cherished her son, Noah, and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she is survived by her son, Noah Hutson; grandfather, Arthur E. “Gene” Cox of Granite City; her fiancé, Dr. Mark Woodson, and his children, Molly, Matt and Paris, of Edwardsville; godmother, Judi (Sparks) Hayes of Virginia; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other extended family and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Orville and Frieda Crawford, Frances Cox and Loral Cox and her godfather, Dave Sparks.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Harvest Community Church, 4651 State Route 162 in Pontoon Beach with the Rev. Roy Boyer and the Rev. Henry Crippen officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to the Noah Hutson Trust Fund and may be accepted at the funeral home, www.irwinchapel.com.
