Carl Howard Clark Jr., 83, of Granite City, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Collinsville Nursing & Rehab in Collinsville.
He was born June 25, 1932, in Erin, Tenn., the son to the late Carl H. and Lula Mae (Warfield) Clark Sr.
Mr. Clark was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He owned and operated Clark Tire Disposal for many years. He also played country music, starting at an early age, and had recorded two records with Kay Records.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy Townzen of Granite City; three sons, Carlton Keith, Gordon and Eric Clark, all of California; three grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah and Dalton Townzen; two sisters, JoAnn Lucas of Madison and Frankie Barnett of Collinsville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Morton; and two brothers, Charles and James Clark.
The family will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Word of Life Tabernacle.
