Carol Singler, 67, of Glen Carbon, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.
She was born June 13, 1948, in Ironton, Mo., a daughter of the late Arnold and Michel (Simpson) Sconce.
On Feb. 4, 1967, Carol married John Singler, the love of her life, in St. Louis. Carol had previously worked for Charter Communications and she retired from United Health Care as a customer service representative after many years of dedicated service. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Carol loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family; she especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, whom she adored. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Sconce; one sister, Mary Lee Rosa; and two brothers-in-law, Elmo Rosa and Robert Dean.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, John Singler of Glen Carbon; loving children, John Singler of Glen Carbon, Michael Singler of Glen Carbon, Michele (Ronald) Johnson of Glen Carbon and James Singler of Collinsville; proud grandmother to Katelyn and Kylie Johnson; dear sisters, Doris (Harold) Sparks of St. Charles, Mo., Norma (Bob) Becker of Hamel, and Linda Dean of Troy; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, with Pastor Jeff Surratt officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon.
