Catherine Robertson, 85, of Granite City, passed away at 6:07 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Vasil and Catherine (Stedman) Mihu.
Catherine retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City after many years of dedicated and loving service as a registered nurse. She was a member of Senior Circle, had a special love of animals and her dogs and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dave Messick of Granite City; her cherished dog, Piper; many special nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Vasil Mihu, Bucur “Bill” Mihu Sr. and George Mihu; and two sisters, Virginia “Ginny” O’Bear and Louise “Weezie” Harvey.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, with the Rev.
