Charles “Bud” Favier, 79, of Granite City, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1937, in Granite City, a son to the late Francis and Melba (Hoover) Favier.
Bud worked as a millwright at Granite City Steel for more than 38 years. He was a former member of the Granite City AmVets and a Shriner. In his free time, Bud enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
He is survived by and will be missed by his daughters, Angela and (Brian) Zywicki of O’Fallon, Darla Greer of Granite City; son, Bill and (Joyce) Favier of Carbondale; grandchildren, Chris Greer, Ryan Favier, Paige Zywicki and Drew Zywicki; great-grandchild, Isaac Greer; and sister, Frances and (Don) Cavins.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Marian J. (Wilson) Favier, whom he married on Nov. 14, 1959.
In celebration of his life, friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital.
