Charles C. Shelton, 75, of Bethalto passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
He was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Fredericktown, Mo. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for 38 years as a machinist at Olin. He was a member of the Church of the Living God in Alton.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia (nee Phillips) Shelton of Bethalto; two sons, Darin (Siriya) Constantino and Michael “Scott” (Crystal) Shelton, both of Bethalto; four daughters, Debbie Brewton of Canyon City, Colo., Tina (Joe) Kobylinski of St. Charles, Mo., Deana (Myron) McDonough of Bethalto and Diana (Rich) Minder of Westfield, Ind.; 15 grandchildren, Veronica (Dale) Eitemiller, Nicholas Brewton, Katrina Tinsley, Josh (Lisa) Tinsley, Knight Constantino, Neema Vedadi, Frank Vedadi, Kayla McDonough, Keith McDonough, Lexi Minder, Isaac Minder, Josi Minder, Lucas Bristow, Gavin Shelton and Virginia Shelton; three great-grandchildren, Blake Bailey, Alex Eitemiller and Levi Tinsley; brother, Marc (Christine) Shelton of Bethalto; and two sisters, Alma Rose (Garry) Cooper and Judy (Larry) Myers of Cottage Hills.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sampson Shelton; twin sisters, Angela Rene` and Annette Lee Shelton; brother, Kenneth Leon Shelton; and a great-grandson, Michael Bailey.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 1 pm. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials can be made to the Church of the Living God. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
