Charles H. Moritz, 87, of Granite City, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 3, 1928, in Wood River, a son to the late Edward H. and Sophie M. (Huette) Moritz.
Charles was an office manager at Illinois Terminal Railroad and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City. The U.S. Army veteran proudly served his country during WW II and was a member of the Granite City American Legion Post.
He is survived by and will be missed by his sister, Betty Moritz of Granite City; and a brother-in-law, John Hall of Los Angeles, Calif.
In celebration of his life, friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, with Pastor Ritch Alexander officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Woodland Hills Cemetery in East Alton. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
