Charles Marvin “Willie” Wilson, 79, of Wood River, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, in Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wood River on Feb. 11, 1936, he was the son of Leonard F. and Blanche M. (Cox) Wilson.
A U.S. Army veteran, he worked as a millwright for Laclede Steel 37 years before retiring in 1995.
He married Frances L. Hubbard on Oct. 5, 1969, in Wood River. She died in 1991. He then married Yvonne S. Boulch. She survives.
Surviving also are three sons, James (Tina) Olsen of Alton, Anthony Boulch of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Brian (Ali) Barks of Staunton; two daughters, Laura (Chuck) Rose of Livingston and Dianna (Rich) Ufert of Rosewood Heights; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at the 1st Christian Church in Wood River. Walter McCaslin will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the 1st Christian Church in Wood River.
