Charles William Spratt Sr., 67, of Granite City, died at 7:14 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 22, 1947, in Shawnee, Okla., the son to the late Kenneth Charles and Decimus Ruth (Beavers) Spratt.
On April 16, 1988, he and Deborah Annette Bertelsmann were married in St. Louis. She survives in Granite City.
Charles was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and later retired as a copier repairman from Zinn Associates in 1999. He was a member of Anchor Bay Lighthouse Family Church and loved genealogy and woodworking.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda L. Burch of Granite City; two sons, Daniel P. Spratt of Carlinville and Johnathan M. Spratt of East Alton; two grandchildren, Carolyn Spratt and Patrick Romanik and a brother, James L. (Barbara) Spratt of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Marie Spratt; a son, Charles William Spratt Jr.; and his first wife, Carolyn Sue (Scroggins) Spratt.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, with David Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Belleville.
