David R. Grillion, 66, of Granite City passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1949, in St. Louis, a son to the late Ralph and Texanna (Rice) Grillion.
David was a machinist for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing from 1968 until his retirement in 2000. He was a United States Army veteran and was an accomplished guitar player. David enjoyed music, computers and playing video games, but most of all he loved to spend time with his wife, Jane.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Jane (Howards) Grillion, whom he married on March 19, 1972; his brothers, Ron and (Suzanne) Grillion of Edwardsville, and Bob and (Julie) Grillion of Mountain Home, Ark.; his sister, MaryEllen and (Marty) Rosso of Arizona; and brother-in-law, Joe and (Carol) Howards of Houston, Texas.
In celebration of David’s life, friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
