David W. Winchester, 60, of Wood River, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Detroit, Mich., on April 8, 1955, he was the son of Raymond Winchester and Genevieve (Landreth) Winchester Franklin.
He had been a union carpenter, working out of Local No. 377 for more than 30 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Lee (Chad) Barrow of Wood River and Laura (Johnny) Ward of East Alton; six grandchildren, Thomas and David “D.J.” Sweeney, Johnathan Ward, Dalton and Riley Shook, and Rainey Barrow; two great-grandchildren, Charlie Coates and Johnathan Ward Jr.; brother, Dale Winchester of Godfrey; sister, Lisa Palen of Camdenton, Mo.; cousin, Steven (Mitzi) Ottwell; and friend, Eli Payton.
Preceding in death were his parents; daughter, Kelli Winchester; two brothers, Ron and Clifford Winchester; and sister, Sharon Towell.
Private services will be conducted at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
