Debra Kay Kessinger
Debra Kay Kessinger, 54, of Brighton, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at home with her family by her side.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1960, in Jerseyville, the daughter of William and Betty Jean (Karrick) Gresham.
Debra married Robert “Bob” Kessinger on June 16, 1978, in Alton. He survives.
She worked as the customer service manager for Schnuck’s in Alton for 26 years and loved playing Bunco with her same group of friends for more than 20 years.
Debra loved being a “Nana” more than anything and is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Kessinger; three children, Erin (Ben) Shewmaker, Joshua Kessinger and Katie (Scott) Curry; five grandchildren, Elijah, Alexis, Liam, Cooper and Sabra; and seven siblings, Patty (Paul) Roberts, Michael Miller, Terry Miller, Gary (Elaine) Miller, Vicki (Richard) Gibson, William Gresham, and Stan (Liz) Karrick.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3 until 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Richard Gibson officiating.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
