Diana Lynn Bryant, 61, of Bethalto, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at St. Louis University Hospital.
She was born on June 17, 1953, in Alton, the daughter of James and Virginia (Cox) McCollum.
Diana married William “Mike” Bryant on Jan. 9, 1971, in Alton. He survives.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cottage Hills VFW Post 7678 Ladies Auxiliary since 1997, in the early 1970s she was a dispatcher for the Cottage Hills Fire Department. She enjoyed camping, taking vacations to Florida, baking with her grandchildren, Dr. Pepper and her beloved dog, Mickey. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Tracey Bryant and Scott Heinsohn of Bethalto, Lisa and Craig Bartholomew of Wood River, Billy Bryant and his fiancée, Rebekah Whyers of Elsah, Sugar and Howard Couch of Bethalto and Shawn Bryant and his fiancée, Breanne Hammons, of Alton; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, James “Buddy” McCollum of St. Ann, Mo., Mark and his wife, Lori McCollum, of Moro and Gary McCollum of St. Ann, Mo.; a sister, Brenda Rodgers of Wood River; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia McCollum; a son, Michael McCollum; and a brother, Ward McCollum.
Visitation was Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Woods officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
