Dolores Marie “Dee” Pearman, 56, of Granite City, passed away at 8:54 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Feb. 24, 1959, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Melvin and Margaret Irene (Hauck) Szerzinski. She married Ernest “Ernie” Pearman on Oct. 15, 1977, in South Roxana and he survives. Dolores worked at Gateway Regional Medical Center with 35 years of dedicated service in housekeeping. Dee was always trying to help others and she touched many lives through the years, bringing a kind word, her beautiful smile or assisting others around the hospital. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a son, Dirk Pearman of Granite City; two brothers, Leo and George Szerzinski; a sister, Ethel Elkins; aunt, Jenny Duncan; two nieces, Jeanette and Sanita DiVietro; other extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Darryl Elkins.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City at 11 a.m. Friday with Father Jason Stone as celebrant.
