Donald Earl Myers Sr., 75, of Granite City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born March 30, 1939, in Granite City. He married Udell Monroe on April 17, 1959, in Pontoon Beach.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for Tarpoff Meat Packing as a truck driver before retiring. He was a member of the Marine Corps League.
He is survived by his wife, Udell Myers of Granite City; son, Donald (Sandy) Myers Jr. of Highland; daughter, Tammy (Brad Shoemaker) Ishum of Marissa; eight grandchildren, Penny (Tom) Windsor, Donald Earl (Julie) Rudolph, Amanda (Kevin) Reynolds, Marie Tudor, Michael (Sami) Tudor, Brock Myers, John John Ishum and Kennedy Wells; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Maddie, Cailyn and Alaina; brother, Daniel Myers of Virginia; two sisters, Janet Manning of Virginia and Joyce Myers of Kansas City, Mo., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Waldo Lyle Myers; mother, Gladys Venetta (nee: Krees) Myers and son, Edward Rudolph.
