Donald Floyd Wilson, 81, of East Alton, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital ER.
He was born July 14, 1933, in Bloomington, the son to the late Charles and Lilly (Tipsord) Wilson.
On Feb. 19, 1954, he and Colleen J. Weber were married in Carpenter. She survives in East Alton.
Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Air Force veteran and then worked at Laclede Steel for 24 years, retiring in 1990 as a shift foreman. He loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lamont and Debra Wilson of Wood River; a daughter, Carolyn Wilson of Staunton; five grandchildren, Steven Wells, Graham Wells, Chelsie Wilson, Zachary Wilson and Kimberly Lundell; and a sister, Alice Stratton of Carlinville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
Burial will be at a later date at Zion Cemetery in Carpenter.
