Donald D. Harlan, 57, of Alton, passed away at 1:56 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Wood River on Oct. 15, 1957, he was the son of Cecil and Madeleine (Adams) Harlan.
Don had been the finance officer and bookkeeper for East Alton American Legion Post 794. In addition, he had served as Post Commander; Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squad 794, Detachment Commander of the Sons of the American Legion and Honor Guard.
He married the former Diane Schwan on Jan. 14, 1999, in Edwardsville. She survives.
Surviving also are stepchildren, William (Jennifer) Lewis of Wood River, Rebecca (Robert) Alford of O’Fallon, Mo.; grandchildren, Alex Lewis and Madison Alford; brother, Jack (Judy) Harlan of East Alton; sister, Dorothy (Lee) Graham of North Port, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
