Donald Louis Andruska, 85, of Marine, died at 8:06 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
He was born Feb. 11, 1929, in East St. Louis, a son of the late Joseph John and Anna (Novak) Andruska. He married Emma (Vallero) Andruska on Feb. 24, 1951, in Caseyville and she passed away on Jan. 11, 2014.
He retired from the St. Louis Local No. 396 after many years of dedicated service as an ironworker. The U.S. Navy veteran proudly served his country during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Currituck and was a Trusty Shellback with the Ancient Order of the Deep. He loved his days of building houses and gardening. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Mary Lynn Andruska of Glen Ellyn and Gary and Linda Andruska of Marine; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Neal, Emily, Michael, Adam (Kristin) and Aaron (Robbi) Andruska; a brother, Robert (Loretta) Andruska of Caseyville; a sister, Helen Keserauskis of Arizona; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Joseph, Edmond, Alfred, Anna, Margaret and Patricia.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, with Father Pat G.
