Donald Ray Wofford, 66, of Granite City, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 9, 1949, in Granite City, a son of the late Jack Allen and Edith Mae (Brooks) Wofford.
The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the AMVETS Post No. 51 and enjoyed collecting coins and watching sports. He enjoyed life and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kelly Don and Maria Wofford of Troy; a grandson, Damon Wofford; a brother, Larry Allen Wofford of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Tarryn Wofford, Denise Hillier and Nicholas Richard; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, where funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. Burial with full military honors will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
