Dorothy “Dotti” J.E. Short, 41, of Alton, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alton on Aug. 12, 1973, she was the daughter of Charles Wiley Jr. of Alton and Dorothy (Holmes) Arnold of Alton.
Dotti was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and had been employed at the Cellar Room in Alton. Her namesake charity, Fight Like Dotti, has been assisting families experiencing cancer for several years.
She is survived by her parents; stepmother, Lee Ann; three daughters, Heaven Kopsie of Godfrey, Shyanne Kopsie and Jody Short both of Alton; two grandsons, Scott Hampton II and Bryce Hampton; half brothers, Charles (Kara) Wiley Badgley and James Tidwell; half sisters, Jamie “Rachel” Quinn and Bobi Jean Knipping; stepbrother, Brandon Bryant; and stepsister, Jamie Doellman.
Visitation was Monday, July 20, 2015, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services were conducted Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
Burial followed in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
A memorial trust fund has been established for her children at the 1st MidAmerica Credit Union.
