Dorothy I. Brewer, 90, of Granite City, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Janice.
She was born May 13, 1925, in Madison, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Kovis) Fecurka. She married William B. Brewer in Granite City and he passed away on Dec. 21, 1999. She was a dedicated and faithful homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Dorothy’s family was the center of her life and she will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Janice K. Brewer of Granite City; son-in-law, Nelson Hagnauer Jr. of Granite City; four grandchildren, Molly, Anna, Betsy and Christopher Hagnauer; a sister, Virginia Hamilton of Granite City; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death at a daughter, Mary Beth Hagnauer; and a brother, Anthony Fecurka.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City with Father Jeff Holtman as celebrant.
