Dorothy Lee Blake-Hanner, 86, of Bethalto, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, at her daughter’s residence.
Born in Alton on Oct. 13, 1928, she was the daughter of George and Uni (Blaine) Hastings.
She had been a sales clerk for Trattler’s Menswear in Wood River for 13 years before retiring.
Dorothy married Donald C. Blake in April 1944 in Alton. He died on April 7, 1972. In August of 1975 in East Alton, she then married Carl Hanner. He died in 1993.
Surviving are four daughters, Donna (David) Mashaw of Farmersville, La., Jeannie (Gary) Ruff of St. Peters, Mo., Diana Jumper of East Alton and Dot (Rick) Kelly of Bethalto; two stepsons, Jim Hanner and Randy Hanner, both of Utah; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Thelma Costanzo of Wood River.
Her parents, husbands, eight brothers and sisters, and longtime companion, Jim Ellison, preceded in death.
In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and her remains will be interned in Upper Alton Cemetery at a later date.
