Dorothy "Dotti" J.E. Short, 41, of Alton, passed away 5:55 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alton on August 12, 1973, she was the daughter of Charles Wiley, Jr. of Alton and Dorothy (Holmes) Arnold of Alton.
Dotti was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and had been employed at the "Cellar Room" in Alton. Her namesake charity, "Fight Like Dotti", has been assisting families experiencing cancer for several years.
She is survived by her parents; step-mother, Lee Ann; three daughters, Heaven Kopsie of Godfrey, Shyanne Kopsie and Jody Short both of Alton; two grandsons, Scott Hampton, II and Bryce Hampton; half-brothers, Charles (Kara) Wiley Badgley, James Tidwell; half-sisters, Jamie 'Rachel' Quinn, Bobi Jean Knipping; step-brother, Brandon Bryant; step-sister, Jamie Doellman.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
A memorial trust fund has been established for her children at the 1st MidAmerica Credit Union.
