Dr. Tony A. Moussalli, 76, of Edwardsville, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at his home.
He was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Aleppo, Syria, a son of the late Soubhi and Violette (Moussalliyeh) Moussalli. He married Ingrid U. (Scharf) Moussalli on July 18, 1981, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Miami Shores, Fla., and she survives.
He has dedicated his life and career to serving others through emergency medicine throughout communities in Illinois and Missouri with 50 years of service as a physician. He was a faithful member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. He was always intrigued by politics, European culture, French literature, antiques and specialty automobiles. He enjoyed reading, his days of traveling, hosting and entertaining and working around the house. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, Christian and Melissa Moussalli of Glen Carbon, Antoine Moussalli of Holiday Shores, Tanya and Michael Craddick of Glen Carbon, Andre Moussalli of Napa, Calif., and Aida R. Moussalli of Edwardsville; two grandchildren, Aida Rose Moussalli and Angelo Tony Moussalli; one sister, Dr. Aida Moussalli of Beirut, Lebanon; and two brothers, Dr. George Moussalli of Vienna, Austria, and Samir Moussalli of London, England.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 155 N. Main St. in Glen Carbon, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, with Father Albert Allen as celebrant.
