Dwight M. Brown, 74, of Chesterfield, died at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born to the late Oscar and Helen (Chism) Brown in Chesterfield Township on Jan. 25, 1941.
Dwight married Verna M. (Davis) Brown on Sept. 21, 1961, in Hernando, Miss. She survives and lives in Chesterfield.
Dwight was the Macoupin County Highway Department Resident Engineer. He also was a dairy farmer. In his spare time, Dwight enjoyed quail hunting.
Besides his wife, survivors include one son and his wife, Gary and Joan Brown of Chesterfield; one grandson, Lucas Alan Brown of Palmyra; one great-grandchild, Kayden Alan Brown; six stepgrandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Kahle of Carlinville; one brother and his wife, Don and Irene Brown of Chesterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and one son, Alan Ray Brown.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Grace Baptist Church in Palmyra.
Pastor Jim Allen will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services in Carmi, Ill., or to Grace Baptist Church, where Dwight was a Deacon.
Following the Memorial Service, a luncheon will be served at the Chesterfield Community Center.
