Edward T. Bobbs Jr., 89, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Alton, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Delmar Gardens on The Green in Chesterfield, Mo.
He was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Alton, the son of Edward T. and Ellen V. (Leuthner) Bobbs Sr. Edward served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He was part of the cleanup operation on the Pacific Rim. Edward married Donna L. Davis on Oct. 17, 1948, and she preceded him in death Jan. 22, 2013.
Edward was an Instrument Mechanic for Amoco Oil for 37 years before retiring. Edward was a member of Alton VFW No. 1308. He was also a home builder, gardener and a hard worker. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Roselee Ellen and Dennis Antolik of Brighton and Peggy Lynn and Paul MacDougall of Whitewater, Mo.; two sons and their spouses, Thomas Edward and Cheryl Bobbs of Bedford, Ind., and Donald Trent and Monica Bobbs of River Hills, Wis.; two sisters, Ramona Bunse of Godfrey and Norma Wyers of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Donna; he was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park with Military Rites provided by the Alton VFW Post No. 1308.
