Elmer Lewis Hull, 68, of Pascola, Mo., passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on July 12, 2016. Elmer was formerly of Granite City and a retiree from National Steel.
Elmer leaves behind his mother, Nina (Stout) Hull; seven children, Robert (Spring) Hull, Faith “Sissy” Dunnavant, Howard “Tommy” (Shannon) Hull, Bradley (Crystal) Hull, Aaron Hull, Larry Miller, and Chrystal Miller.
Elmer also leaves 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Daniel Hull, Samuel Hull, and Richard Hull; two sisters, Mary (Hull) Knowlton and Augusta (Hull) Bristol.; and his life partner and caretaker, Alice (Briggs) Hull.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Lewis Hull; one sister, Fairy (Hull) Greer; a son, James Lewis Hull; two grandsons, Jacob Hull and Blake Miller; and one granddaughter, Monica Hull.
Elmer loved to shoot pool, watching the History and SyFy channels and reading Louis Lamour westerns. He was fondly known as “Moe” by his former co-workers.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. July 30, 2016, at the Salvation Army on East 23rd Street in Granite City, officiated by Captain Donna Rose.
