Erna L. Roach, 91, of Bethalto, passed away at 9:18 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1924, in Hermann, Mo., daughter of the late Louis R. and Martha L. (Rath) Brunner. She married Howard Roach in 1952 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1968.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steve Winiecki of Bethalto; three grandchildren, Angela Koszyk and her husband, Dave of Plainfield, Dan Winiecki of Bethalto, and Jennifer Winiecki of Bethalto; three great-grandchildren, Sean Koszyk, Austin Koszyk, and Emma Jo Winiecki; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Brunner of Hermann, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Winnie Brunner of North Carolina.
Erna was formerly employed at Waggner Electric as an inspector for starter generators for aircraft during World War II. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann, Mo.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Roach; two sisters, Dorothy Egan and Martha Moushey; and one brother, Robert Brunner.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Hermann, Mo.
