Essie M. Macios, 87, of Granite City, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1928, in Lutesville, Mo., a daughter to the late Silas Arlie and Lela Pearl (Hicks) Mosley.
Essie was a lifelong homemaker that enjoyed baking and watching TV. She was a huge fan of Elvis and John Wayne, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her sons, Jack and (Robin) Manion Jr. of Collinsville, and Russell and (Kathy) Manion of Collinsville; grandchildren, Tiffany and (Tom) Andrews, Adam Labanosky, Brandi and (Larry) Freitag, Christopher Labanosky, Russell and (Amber) Manion, Kathryn Labanosky, Travis Childers and Tony Manninger; great-grandchildren, Chase Freitag, Sydney Labanosky, James Manion, Blake Freitag, Bostyn Andrews, Keaton Andrews, Addie Childers, Drake Childers and Richard Manion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Manion Sr.; her second husband, Henry Macios; and a brother, William Manion.
In celebration of her life friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015, with funeral services starting at 7 p.m. with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at a later date at St. John Cemetery on Nameoki Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
