Esther Marie Tucker, 90, of East Alton, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1925, in Brighton, the daughter of Carl and Emma (Schwab) Orban.
Esther married Elven B. Tucker on April 15, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1995.
Esther worked in the laundry department at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. She enjoyed playing bingo, games and loved music. She was a very fun person to be around and always had a smile on her face. She loved her friends and had lots of them.
Esther is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Linda Tucker of Godfrey, Larry Tucker of Alton, and Roger and Deb Tucker of Colorado Spring, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Kristine (Ken) Clark, Lois (Scott) Anderson, Adam (Ellie) Tucker, Kate Tucker, Allison (Nick) Thomasetti, Tony Phillips and Angela (John) Brewster; five great-grandchildren, Emma, Jack, Hannah, Ian and Lucas; and one sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Raymond Wallace of Bethalto.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; and three brothers, Eugene, Elmer and Clarence Orban.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Michael Southcombe officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto.
