Eva Mary Six, 93, of Granite City, passed away at 11:27 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at University Nursing and Rehabilitation in Edwardsville.
She was born March 19, 1921, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Leopold and Elizabeth (Theis) Six.
Eva was a retired factory worker with a leather and novelty manufacturing company. She had been a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Joan Mitchell of Granite City, Michael (Darla) Minnick of Panama City Beach, Fla., Leo (Susie) Six Jr. of Mount Olive, John (Jean) Six of St. Louis, Lori (Steve) Schneider of Granite City, Steve Six of Granite City and Marilynn Mitchell of Bacliff, Texas; many great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Novacich and Eleanor Minnick; and one brother, Leo J. Six Sr.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 9 a.m. until prayers at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City with Father Manuel Cuizon as celebrant.
Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church and may be accepted at the funeral home, www.irwinchapel.com.
