Fern R. Orban, 86, of Bethalto, passed at 8:50 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Eunice Smith in Alton.
She was born on May 14, 1928, in Wood River, the daughter of Robert and Leona (Neumann) Ragan.
Fern was preceded in death by three husbands, Richard Feltes, John Pentland and Dennis Orban.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto and retired from Economy Boat Store in Wood River. Fern was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose in Wood River, where she served as the Deputy Grand Regent. She also loved playing cards, gardening, taking care of her yard, flowers, walking and reading.
Fern loved her family dearly and was a dedicated mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to make her family and friends happy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Kim Feltes of Bethalto; a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Mike Yarborough of East Alton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Chris VanWinkle, Kelly and Michelle Feltes, Kyle and Michelle Feltes, Amanda Feltes, Mick and Susan Yarborough, Joe and Rachele Yarborough, Brian and Becky Yarborough, Mark and Tina Yarborough, and John Yarborough; two stepchildren and spouse, Tom and Annie Orban, and Randy Orban; a stepson-in-law, Don Davis; three stepgrandchildren, Scott, David and Jennifer; and several great-grandchildren,
In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by a son, Robert “Tank” Feltes; a granddaughter, Monica French; a brother, J.T. Ragan; and a stepdaughter, Denise Davis.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
