Frances A. Bell, 61, of Pontoon Beach, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1955, in Caruthersville, Mo., a daughter to Odis Howard Busby and Jewel Marie (Garner) Busby.
Frances had worked for Gateway Medical Center in the housekeeping department for more than 20 years. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and she never missed watching a game. Frances enjoyed fishing, watching TV and was a movie buff. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family. Frances will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Odis Busby; and one sister, Peggy Lane.
Frances is survived by her loving children, Peggy Marie (Chris) Slone of Moro and George Bell of Pontoon Beach; dear mother, Jewel Marie Busby of Mitchell; proud grandmother to Matthew Busby, Josh Slone, Jonathan Slone and Emily Slone; dear brothers, Jerry Busby of Beaver Creek, Colo., and Gary Busby of Avon, Colo.; dear sister, Christine (Victor) Cook of Granite City; former husband, George Bell of Pontoon Beach; brother-in-law, David Lane of Brandon, Miss.; many nieces and nephews; and extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, with Pastor Eddie Linhart officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to her grandchildren’s scholarship fund and donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
