Frank W. Wurtz, 80, of Shipman, died at 7:15 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at home.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1934, in St. Louis, the parents of the late Ralph J. and Marie I. (Randal) Wurtz.
He married Betty Lou (Short) Wurtz of Shipman on Dec. 26, 1959, in St. Louis.
Frank retired from Shell Oil as a marketing representative. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State and was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. He also was a Mason, Ministerial Counselor at Community Hope Center, Deacon at Mount Zion Baptist in Piasa and an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and CH (COL) David Beauchamp of Kansas City, Kan., and Elizabeth Wurtz-Cottingham of Alton; son and daughter-in-law, Frank “Bill” William and Stephanie Wurtz of Perrysburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Wally Turpin of Webster Groves, Mo.; and in-laws, Lucy and Glenn Bequette of Cadet, Mo., Betty and Jim Short of Montana, Regina Short of Colorado and Kate Short of Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by both parents and one granddaughter, Anna Beauchamp.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Piasa with Clergy CH (COL) David Beauchamp.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
