Geneva M. Hill, 84, of Madison, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, in Granite City.
She was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Grandin, Mo., a daughter of the late John and Sylvia (Parrish) Wood. She married Roy H. Hill in Clay County, Ark., and he passed away May 15, 1982. She and her late husband had owned and operated the Cloverleaf Confectionary in Madison. She was an avid bingo and pinochle player and enjoyed her days of camping and fishing. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in Madison.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam Hill-Thomas of Granite City and Paula and David Vaughn of Granite City; four grandchildren, Tara Butler, Russell Hill, David (Stephanie) Vaughn and Kevin Vaughn; three great-grandchildren, Deven Butler, Shane Butler and Alyssa Love; six brothers and sisters, Murlanne Julius, John Wood, Don Wood, Linda Coleman, Gary Wood and Cheryl Stephens; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by infant twin children, Kevin and Karen Hill; and a brother, Bob Wood.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, with the Rev.
