George L. Kuzma, 73, of Granite City, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, in Granite City.
He was born Aug. 25, 1942, in Granite City, a son of the late George W. and Anna (Eck) Kuzma. The United States Air Force veteran proudly served his country. He retired in October 1999 from Scott Air Force Base after 38 years of dedicated service as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City and the Granite City Moose Lodge. He cherished his days at his cabin in “The Country” and enjoyed fishing, working on his land and his toys. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Lorie Kuzma of Tampa, Fla.; two nephews and their wives, Michael and Randee Kuzma of Grayslake, Ill., and David and Sue Kuzma of Lindenhurst, Ill.; a niece and her husband, Patricia and Scott Immekus of Wheaton, Ill.; many great-nieces; great-nephews; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be 8 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with Father Jeff Holtman officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project and may be accepted at the funeral home.
