Geronimo B. Cherry, 58, of Collinsville, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, in Pontoon Beach.
He was born April 18, 1957, in East St. Louis, the son to Robert Edward and Helen (Haden) Cherry.
Geronimo was a member of the YMCA in Maryville.
He is survived by his son, Geronimo Edward (Dorris) Cherry; 11 grandchildren, Nikki Fullington, Sammantha Hutton-Kassley, Kenneth Joseph Bostic, Victoria Bostic, Kainon Pillow, Andrew Pillow, Elizabeth Pillow, Jayda Pillow, Narriah Doty, Jemaine Pillow II and Nathaniel Pillow; one great-grandchild, Gage Fullington, all of Collinsville; common-law wife, Patricia Pillow of Pontoon Beach; three stepchildren, Jerome Pillow, Jerrnaine Pillow I, both of Granite City, and Charnele Pillow of St. Louis; two brothers, William Cherry of Collinsville and Robert (Mikah) Cherry of Troy; and a sister, Sharon Williams-Cherry of Troy.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lerton Cherry.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville.
