Gloria Jean Harper, 67, of Granite City, went home to be with the Lord at 5:12 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015.
She was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Granite City, the daughter to Margaret (Wilson) Harper of Granite City and the late Paul Harper.
Gloria worked for Consumer Programs Inc. “C.P.I.” as a digital imager for 47 years. She was an active member of West 22nd Street Baptist Church, where she served as church organist, a Bible School and Sunday School teacher.
Aunt “Go-Go,” as she was affectionately known to her family and adopted church kids, loved to serve others, especially children, including nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and the many other young lives she touched and held dear.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Robert (Betty) Harper; and two sisters, Margaret Paulette (Paul Dean) Wilson Sr. and Sandy (Mel) Hollandsworth, all of Granite City.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a niece, Mary Frances Wilson; and a nephew, Paul Dean Wilson Jr.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory and will continue from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
