Harold Eugene Perryman, 88, of Granite City, passed away at 9:35 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Murphysboro, a son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Hubert) Perryman. He married Shirley Ann (Rigley) Perryman on Sept. 16, 1963, at St. John United Church of Christ in Granite City and she survives. Harold retired in 1979 from Granite City Steel after more than 25 years of dedicated service as a steelworker. The United States Army veteran proudly served his country during World War II. He enjoyed his days of fishing, his bow and arrows and walking his dogs. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three daughters, Judy (Jim) Roth of Arizona, Sherry (Mark Gauen) Bell of Granite City, and Tina (Mike Dollins) Perryman of Granite City; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Winters of Granite City and Anna Rose Meyers of Alton; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Perryman; and a sister, Betty Hart.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev.
