Harold W. Link, 86, of Granite City, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born on March 9, 1929, in St. Louis, a son to the late Elmer F. and Evelyn O. (Grouse) Link. Harold was a longtime shipping and receiving clerk for Westinghouse Electric and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Mary (Staffos) Link; son, David Link of Belleville; son-in-law, Jim Castevens of Granite City; and grandson, Christopher Castevens of Granite City.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Lynn Castevens.
In celebration of Harold’s life, friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
