Jacqueline R. York, 84, of Edwardsville passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Edwardsville.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1930, in Granite City, a daughter to the late Andrew I. and Dorothy B. (Hardwige) Bridick. Jacqueline was a longtime beautician and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. She will be remembered for her kind heart and the special times she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her brother, Ron and (Carole) Bridick of Edwardsville; numerous nephews, nieces and other extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Lyndell York; and sister, Helen McGarrahan.
Per Jacqueline’s wishes, there will be no visitation. In celebration of her life there will be a private family service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, with Fr. Jeff Holtman officiating at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
