James Everett Owens, 68, of Cahokia, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Cahokia Nursing and Rehab Center.
James was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Charleston, Mo., to Elmer and Edith (nee Hill) Owens.
The U.S. Army veteran married Delores May in Venice, Ill., on Nov. 26, 1970.
James was a forklift driver for St. Louis Dye Casting for many years.
Besides his wife of 44 years, James is survived by two daughters, Anita Marie Grant of Cahokia and Beth Ann (Jerry) Casey of Dupo; two sons, John (Cindy) Grant of Cahokia and James (Teresa) Owens Jr. of Granite City; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Elmer Leroy Owens; four sisters, Louise Townsend, Thelma McDonald, Carolyn Goetz and Cora Sue Owens; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City.
